Concerts and Fundraising Highlights
*** Saturday 23 March 2013: ***
The Chester Songbirds sang at the Marks and Spencer Flagship Store in Ellesmere Port on Saturday 23rd March 2013, from 2pm til 2:30pm and from 3pm til 3:30 pm. We sang a wide variety of songs, including four part harmony traditionals and modern classics and raised £120 for the Autistic Society. Well done, everybody!
The concert is free for everybody to enjoy.

*** Thursday 7th – Sunday 9th June 2013: ***
The Chester Songbirds sang at the Wirral Folk on the Coast Festival, Thursday 7th – Sunday 9th June 2013. We sang a wide variety of songs, including four part harmony traditionals, modern classics and songs written by An Croenen. The atmosphere of the Festival was super! *** Christmas Concert in Aid of the Autistic Society
at Brand New John Lewis Flagship Store ***
The Chester Songbirds performed at Chester’s brand new John Lewis shop in the Greyhound Retail Park (CH1 4QG) on 11th December. Customers made themselves comfortable in the coffeeshop on the first floor, turning their chairs to listen to us. We received many enthusiastic compliments and two requests to join the Songbirds!
We raised £100 which we are donating to the Autistic Society.

*** Thursday 6th December 2012: ***
The Chester Songbirds sang as part of the spectacular Christmas Concert at the Guild Hall in Chester, organised in aid of Teams 4 U, a charity founded by Dave Cooke. Dave is also the founder of the well known charity Operation Christmas Child, which has been sending aid and Christmas gifts for more than twenty years to children who are in desperate need. In 2006 Dave founded Teams4U to enable many others to have the opportunity and experience of working with and supporting vulnerable children and their families. Teams4U takes teams of people from the UK and other countries into the heart of communities in Africa and Central and Eastern Europe. We are delighted to support this event. *** Christmas Concert in Aid of the NSPCC for the Chester Round Table’s Christmas Meal for Chester’s Elderly People in Need ***
The Chester Songbirds raised the roof during the Christmas Meal organised by the Chester Round Table for Chester’s Elderly People in Need, held on 3rd December 2011.
Within minutes the Songbirds had everybody singing along to the Christmas Classics and many enthusiastic comments were made by members of the audience after the concert.
To our delight the Chester Round Table offered us a cheque for £300, which we are proudly donating to the NSPCC.
